CBT with Children & Adolescents: Social Anxiety Disorder
United Kingdom · CPD points & talks · Psychologists
Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) is one of the most common anxiety disorders in children and adolescents and can significantly interfere with school, friendships, and family life. This focused CPD training equips psychologists with a structured, evidence-based approach for using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to treat Social Anxiety Disorder in young clients.
The course begins with a concise overview of CBT fundamentals before delving into the CBT model of anxiety and how it applies to social anxiety specifically. Through a detailed case study, participants will explore how to formulate cases, create tailored treatment plans, and implement developmentally appropriate CBT strategies such as exposure, cognitive restructuring, and behavioural experiments.
